WHO WE ARE

April Downs has been a licensed Cosmetologist since 2011. She was one of the first to graduate from the Aveda Institute Austin. April has been  growing her knowledge through intricate studies in haircutting , curl, texture and styling essentials with Dennis Clendennen.  The classic bob and Styling Essentials with Aveda Purefessional Jami Eastin and advanced haircutting with Ron Fredericks and Connie Strang.

April's excitement for new adventures and experiences have gained her opportunities to work with film makers, photographers and top companies around Austin.  This includes being the hair and makeup artist for Jeff Ray during the Sigur Ros mystery film experiment 'Varuo' and for his short film "Where the red fox lies." You can also catch her work on the music video for Eli Young Band  “Prayer for the Road’.

  She has also been the hairstylist for KLRU, PBS, ACL live with Jack White and the Peacocks. Her work can also be seen in an episode of A&E's show 'Modern Dads'.  April has worked with local photographers and companies such as Bill Long, Juju Fotofactory, Soto and Co. and has done a few cover features with Austin Women's Magazine.
